Photographer Xola dos Santos joined the team on our second day of Mama-searching.

He shared his experience in approaching people for photos and introduced us to his camera.

Most of the Mamas asked to come back another day, but Nandiwe Sylvia Magadla (in the photos on top) was the one to save the day and agree to be photographed. Another Mama adviced us to approach the area's committee as an engine of support. After the sunny walk, we came back to the lovely Hubspace Khayelitsha and briefly workshoped portraits of each other.

Next week: preparing a flyer for the project to give away to community members.

It will be longer, but more engaged project than it first looked.

Xola will join us again as a mentor-photographer.
